Join us for an evening of incredible dishes, brought to you by the super talented couple George and Jess Matheou-McGill. Famously the duo behind the well loved Omni restaurant in London, George now works directly with Alexis Gauthier as a Sous Chef at Gauthier Soho. In this menu he and Jess have been given free rein to explore some of their most pure, inventive and delicious creations. If you are interested in the very best in plant-based gastronomy, there are very few chefs in the world as dedicated as them. The evening will feature a live DJ and a fun Q&A with the chefs. Omni is the passion project of George and Jess, who previously ran a plant-based restaurant and natural wine bar in Peckham, focusing on seasonal sharing plates. After having to close their restaurant due to a rent hike, George has been working as sous chef at Gauthier, while Jess continues to run the company’s events, from weddings to private dining.
Calling their style “modern, international, plant-based” they take flavours and inspiration from around the world to create new and interesting combinations, as well as stamping their own adaptations on traditional classics. Through this pop up they aim to create flavour first dishes with minimal ingredients, celebrating a different vegetable for each course.
To many, Omni means omnivore, those who eat meat and vegetables, those who eat everything. They decided to call themselves Omni because instead of eating everything, they feed everyone. Aiming to bring people together to share a meal. They believe that whether or not you are vegan, whether you are Muslim, kosher, halal or whether you are omnivorous, for one meal they encourage everyone to sit down and share.
